Watson Alarms 40th Birthday

Watson Alarms Celebrates 40 Years of Service

Watson Alarms was founded on 1st August 1985 by George and Lesley Watson. The decision to start their own business came after George had been working as the manager of a large national security company in Aberdeen. Although this role at Lander Alarms was a significant appointment, it wasn’t quite where George’s heart lay. His previous job had been at his father’s family business, Watson Security, which was sold in 1982.

After much discussion with Lesley—who was working as a nurse at Aberdeen Children’s Hospital at the time—they decided to take the leap and launch their own company. It was a bold move, but one that paid off. Now, 40 years on, Watson Alarms continues to provide trusted security services across the region and beyond.

With a dedicated team of just 12 staff, the company has always maintained the friendly, family-run feel that George envisioned from the start. Our loyal staff are a huge part of that success. Two of our team members have been with us for over 30 years, and several others have been with us for well over a decade.

We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of our team—past and present—for their dedication, loyalty, and hard work. We wouldn’t be here today without them.

Here’s to the next chapter of Watson Alarms!
