World Cup Fever Across Scotland

World Cup

As the start of the FIFA Mens World Cup kicks off on Thursday 11th June everyone at Watson Alarms would like to wish Scotland the very best of luck. A long time has passed since Scotland last appearance at a World Cup finals, 28 years to be exact! A whole generation of Tartan Army supporters have to date missed the opportunity to witness their own National Football team being represented on the sports biggest stage. In 1998 Colin Hendry led the team out at the opening game at France 98 against Brazil. The game ended with a 2-1 defeat!

In true Scottish National team style following up the opening game defeat, with a draw with Norway and despite going into the last group game with a chance to quality Scotland lost 3-0 to Morocco. Unable to break the `duck` of getting through the knock it stages the Team and the Tartan Army were heading home!

The `Big Question’ is can Scotland go one better in 2026!!

After a successful qualifying campaign ending in arguably one of the greatest nights in history for Scottish fans with a winner takes all showdown against Denmark at Hampden. Scotland were 4-2 victors with exceptional goals from McTominay and McLean which would not be out of place at the World Cup final itself.

The Tartan Army are on the march to the USA, who cohost with Mexico and Canada, in what is the largest tournament in history with 48 teams.

In the early hours of Sunday 14th June, Scotland will play their first match against Haiti with the Scottish fans hoping for a positive start before they go head-to-head with `old foes` of Morocco and Brazil once again.

No Scotland No Party!
Good Luck Scotland from Team Watson Alarms
